Tours: Come in any Saturday, noon to 5 pm, or the 1st Sunday of the month, 1 pm to 4 pm, and our docents will tour you through the Cottage! You will see how the family of Tollkeepers lived in 1861, as best we can recreate their situation. The Bulman family of 2 adults and 7 grown children, lived without electricity or running water, and all their food and clothing made by themselves.

While there is no charge for admission during our regular open hours, we do hope for a donation! Gifts of $20 entitle you to an income tax receipt, since we are a registered charity with the CRA.

Groups: We can accommodate a group of children or adults on days when we are not otherwise open, by arrangement with our docents. Special programs for children, seniors, or other groups, can involve a tour of the museum, plus old-fashioned activities like horseshoe toss, dyeing with local plant material, churning butter, visiting our pollinator garden , or whatever might take your fancy! We charge $6 per person for a 2 or 3 hour gathering.

Walks/brochures: We have a set of local historical walking tours. You can purchase a leaflet and visit the neighbourhood, but it is more fun to go on a guided tour with one of our docents, and discuss the foibles of the early inhabitants and their buildings. Add your name to the list of people interested, and when a walk is planned, you will be sent an invitation.

Walks so far: Seaton Village, the West Annex, the Christie Pits area, Tarragon Village, Wychwood Park, the East Annex, and Bickford Park.

Rentals: Community groups can rent the Cottage for meetings, or even birthday parties, by arrangement, with a charge of $40/hour. Just email us to book a time!
